Beyond Wonderland Recap

Sooo for those of you who didn’t get a chance to go, I am terribly sorry. Beyond Wonderland KILLED it this year. Words cannot describe how epic the scene was. We start our 5 hour journey to San Bernardino from Phoenix AZ… 5 hours isn’t too bad. Shitty part? RAIN. RAIN AND COLD. Did that stop us though? NEVER!! We will never give up on the pursuit to hear some kick as electronic dance music!

Swirling lights everywhere, fire breathing metal sculptures, dancers dressed as little ducks, sheep, and other crazy trippy characters. It was impossible not to feel warm from all the love that was pouring out of this event, you could barely tell it was only like 40 degrees outside. It was also impossible to decide who to go see. It was an incredible talent filled line up on every stage and it was so hard to choose, but we did our best! Front and center for my favorite Norman Doray, Moguai, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Hardwell, ATB, Arty, Gareth Emery, and yes Armin Van Buuren. Here are a few of my favorite pics from the show! Try not to miss out on what of the best events of the year next time!

Norman Doray killed it!!

Featuring: Merdan Taplak

So for those of you who do not know who Merdan Taplak is, let me introduce you. From Antwerp, Belgium, he brings you some crazy beats the likes of which you probably have never heard before. Receiving numerous praises and being declared “to have joined the raving hotchpotch of like-minded artists such as Buraka Som Sistema and the wicked Diplo and his Mad Decent posse. His seething mishmash plays M.I.A. a nasty trick, while the Crookers eat their heart out with his pounding bass wobbles.” He is truly innovative. Mixing all genres of electronic dance music, he shows his versatility and unique ability to experiment in all areas of the dance music genre.

His album  ”In It For The Honey” came out February 18th on PIAS and it includes guest appearances of Princess Superstar, The Glimmers, Fat Jon, Kraantje Pappie and more. Its definitely something you want to check out!

Porcelain Black – Naughty (R3HAB’s Pacha NYC 6AM Remix)

Holy Dutch… For those of you haven’t listened to R3hab’s remix of Porcelain Black’s Naughty well then I recommend you do right away. A quality song on it’s own, only a select few can keep the integrity of a great song while making it even better by making it their own. the song is just given something extra as R3hab puts his own style in the mix. It is just a quality electro house dance song intertwined with some killer dirty dutch drops. Whether its an original or a remix, I am never disappointed when R3hab puts out a mix and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed either. Stay Naughty ;)

Featured: Count Effectz

Such a treat! Okay, we need you to do us a favor and REMEMBER this name: Count Effectz. Count Effectz (Michael Williams) from Sydney, Australia is busting out mixes the likes of which many of us have never seen before. Impressed by his versatility, as he is really able to adapt to the ever-changing genre of electronic dance music, and I personally am a big fan of all his music I have heard thus far. It has this dubstep, electro, house vibe that is really unique, and I think it is only a matter of time until you start hearing his name more and more frequently here in the U.S.

Above & Beyond ft. Zoe Johnston – You Got to Go (Seven Lions Remix)

Photo Credit: Above & Beyond Soundcloud
A lovely dubstep remix of one our favorite trance artists’ songs. This song is extremely well done, and the remix adds another element to the song without taking away from how great the original mix was. If you like Above & Beyond, if you like dubstep, or if you just like electronic dance music in general then you will LOVE this remix. Check it out!
