Azealia Banks vs. Steve Angello – Knas 212 (Dj Óli Geir Bootleg)
Knas is the classic electro house track that brings me back to EDC 2010. It’s really nice to see the songs revival in a mash with Azealia Banks‘ 212. DJ Óli Geir from Iceland stitches together the upbeat pace of Knas with the quick and witty vocals in 212. The result is a bootleg that hits particularly hard on the second drop. Here is the thing, I normally am not a huge fan of mashups, but in this case I made an exception because it was a Norman Doray mashup. Well I’m glad I made that exception because as with pretty much every Norman Doray mix, I LOVED IT! A solid beat with some trance like vocals that really draw you in, along with some huge synths, yea this is a killer mashup and definitely will not disappoint. Check it out for yourself!

Laidback Luke Is About to Take 2012 by Storm!
What can you really say about Laidback Luke that most people already know? I mean yes, I could tell you the generic stuff like the fact that he was raise in the Netherlands, or he has made his mark through his unique, pulsing beats, while incorporating intoxicating melodies. He has worked with top DJs such as David Guetta, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell, and Example (just to name a few). I could go on and on.
The truth is, I don’t really know if anything I can say would do him and his work justice. But, I can tell you that if you are looking for a great dance song, you can never go wrong with Laidback Luke. His fusion of house, electro and even dubstep seems to be unparalleled, and his mixes and remixes always provide a good variety of different dance music styles, making it impossible to get tired of listening to him. Don’t believe me? Well he doesn’t disappoint in his mix Do the Robot nor in his latest Remix of Aaron Smith ft. Luvli – Dancin. So check them out so you can see what I’m talking about! Can’t wait to see what else he has coming for us in 2012, because if this is any indication of the year to come, it will definitely be epic.

A State of Trance Yearmix Release!
My second favorite day of the year has come, A State of Trance annual Yearmix has been just been released today! Following up Episode 540, which I posted 5 days ago, Episode 541 is the last ASOT Episode of the year. These 89 tracks from 2011 were hand selected by Armin Van Buuren and edited 4219 times to make up this epic 2 hour compilation! A State of Trance Top 20 of 2011
That’s right! Another very exciting year in Trance has come to a close. The Top 20 Trance tracks of the year is an episode I always impatiently look forward to. What makes it even more impressive is the fact that the beloved host Armin Van Buuren has nothing to do with the tracks selected! This year there were 16,550 valid and confirmed votes which produced the beautiful tracklist in A State of Trance Episode 540! Counting down from number 20, Armin just mixes the tracks together as chosen by we the people. Stay tuned for our upcoming post with the official ASOT yearmix episode!

Big fan of this one. I mean can you really go wrong when combining Kaskade and Swedish House Mafia & Knife Party? Probably not. Truth is, I’m normally not a huge fan of mashups, but you can’t beat these trance like vocals with big room house beats. Give it a listen!
