Well! After a long posting hiatus, WE’RE BACK-YOU KNEW IT! Ok, now let’s get back to business. This fellow Da Chip here, has managed to compose and compile two full volumes of Daft Punk songs that have been covered in 8-bit gooey goodness. If these classic Daft Punk songs didn’t bring you back to another time already, then this surely will because they sound like they have been ripped straight from an N-64 or Gameboy! There are 24 songs total between the two albums but I’ve listed my favorite and most recognizable 10 below! Cheers

Figure – Mission of Destruction (Original Mix)

First of all, I was listening to this in my car and then I started thinking about whether I had posted anything about this kick ass song. I haven’t, and honestly I don’t know what the hell is wrong with me. I’m a huge fan of Figure. His mixes are always on point. He kicks ass live. He just is a great DJ overall. He is the shit. This mix is also THE SHIT. I listen to it all the time which makes me wonder how on earth I forgot to post about it! I mean, I probably just wanted to keep all of the awesomeness to myself! HA! Kidding. Well, better late than never I guess! ENJOY!!!

Alesso – Years (Vocal Mix) *BBC Radio 1 Preview*

I see that DJs and producers are starting to crank out what are sure to be some of the dance anthems of the summer (maybe even the year)! How do you really pick a favorite though? I figured out how to deal with this dilemma… I just decided that I won’t pick one over the other. Be looking for a post in the next month that will contain an epic summer playlist that will constantly be updated as all of our favorite DJs continue to pump out new mixes.

This tune is definitely one that will make that cut too. Right now he is giving us a little taste, but Alesso always creates huge dance tracks and this is no exception. Its a feel good tune that will get ya up and dancing and feeling great. DOING IT BIG! Can’t wait for the complete full length release!! Check it out. Enjoy!

Sharam – Our Love (Dirtyloud Remix)

Like WHOA. Okay so this remix is badass. Dirtyloud definitely out did themselves this time. The duo comes out with some crazy mixes that I LOVE, but this one is like awesome. The vocals are hypnotic and have this trance like effect, and then you have this crunchy and filthy bass. They have married the best of both world into this epic remix that all you dubstep bassheads will looove. Enjoy!!

Beyond Wonderland Recap

Sooo for those of you who didn’t get a chance to go, I am terribly sorry. Beyond Wonderland KILLED it this year. Words cannot describe how epic the scene was. We start our 5 hour journey to San Bernardino from Phoenix AZ… 5 hours isn’t too bad. Shitty part? RAIN. RAIN AND COLD. Did that stop us though? NEVER!! We will never give up on the pursuit to hear some kick as electronic dance music!

Swirling lights everywhere, fire breathing metal sculptures, dancers dressed as little ducks, sheep, and other crazy trippy characters. It was impossible not to feel warm from all the love that was pouring out of this event, you could barely tell it was only like 40 degrees outside. It was also impossible to decide who to go see. It was an incredible talent filled line up on every stage and it was so hard to choose, but we did our best! Front and center for my favorite Norman Doray, Moguai, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike, Hardwell, ATB, Arty, Gareth Emery, and yes Armin Van Buuren. Here are a few of my favorite pics from the show! Try not to miss out on what of the best events of the year next time!

Norman Doray killed it!!

Mad love for Hardwell

ATB Showing his love

The man who everyone was waiting for … Armin Van Buuren

Starting off with this feel good electro/trancelike/house mix. Holy hell it just packs the punch there doesn’t it?? So many awesome dance genres in one? Plus you have Hujje crankin this mix out? Couldn’t really ask for more now could ya? Hope this killer mix makes up for me being gone! Enjoy!

Featured: Wick-it The Instigator

True electronic talent has the ability to navigate in between different genres without so much as a hiccup. Wick-it The Instigator has that talent. He’s got his fingers in electro-house, dubstep, and moombahton. What I like most about his style is that while clearly displaying the ability to flip back and forth between very diverse styles, the base influence is very oriental and drum related. The end result would make you think he’s from Malaysia or India, but in contrary is really from Nashville, Tennessee! I’ve posted two tracks below which highlight his ability to change style, and pump life into some well-known hip-hop tracks. Best of all, you can download them for free in the Soundcloud player. Cheers

Dr. Dre – Still California (Wick-it Moombahton Remix)

M.I.A. – Bad Girls (Wick-it Remix)

MSD – No Forgo

Meet MSD- an insane French dubstep producer. The song No Forgo has had smashing consequences at shows both in the UK and around the world. It’s so hot BBC Radio 1 has even been broadcasting it to unprepared civilians. If you’re ready to get your ears blown to a bloody pulp as you simultaneously smash your head back and forth on your keyboard, take a listen to the Habstrakt remix below. Afterwards if you have any brain cells left in your head, lock the name MSD in your mind because you’ll be hearing more… soon.Get the original and remixes here on Beatport which is currently #9 on the dub chart!

Azealia Banks vs. Steve Angello – Knas 212 (Dj Óli Geir Bootleg)

Knas is the classic electro house track that brings me back to EDC 2010. It’s really nice to see the songs revival in a mash with Azealia Banks212.  DJ Óli Geir from Iceland stitches together the upbeat pace of Knas with the quick and witty vocals in 212. The result is a bootleg that hits particularly hard on the second drop. Take a listen below and download for free in the Soundcloud player! Cheers

Noisia – Machine Gun (Amon Tobin Remix)

Machine Gun is a song released by Noisia back in 2010. Hell, the remixes came out then for this song too. However, I didn’t discover the Amon Tobin Remix of the track until maybe over a month ago. It’s been so creepy and catchy I had to share. The track is electronic but it gives off the vibe that you are in some future post-apocalyptic world being chased by deadly machinery. Deadly, but certainly not dreary. Get the song here on iTunes or via Direct Download. Cheers
