14 Year-Old DJ Prodigy??
Holy Crap. Can I just start out by saying that before you listen to these mixes, I want you to know this kid is only 14 years old. No joke! Producing for less than a year, he is definitely one to keep an eye on because if his work over the last few months is any indication of work to come then he will be a household name in no time. My jaw literally dropped with this mashup of Nero and Skrillex. Truly speechless. Check the kid out and prepare to be impressed.

A State of Trance Yearmix Release!
My second favorite day of the year has come, A State of Trance annual Yearmix has been just been released today! Following up Episode 540, which I posted 5 days ago, Episode 541 is the last ASOT Episode of the year. These 89 tracks from 2011 were hand selected by Armin Van Buuren and edited 4219 times to make up this epic 2 hour compilation! Okay so there is something different about Mike Mroz, and I think it may be the fact that he has the ability to bridge Tech House and Progressive House in a crazy unique way. His goal? To fuse together his European roots with American tastes. As I listen to his mixes, I realize that his mission has definitely been accomplished! Bringing in his influences from all aspects of his life, Mroz makes these great mixes that can keep you going for days. His podcasts are filled with unrelenting techno-tronic beats, great hooks and melodies, and the way he mixes and remixes songs makes his music so easy to enjoy. Such a treat! Okay, we need you to do us a favor and REMEMBER this name: Count Effectz. Count Effectz (Michael Williams) from Sydney, Australia is busting out mixes the likes of which many of us have never seen before. Impressed by his versatility, as he is really able to adapt to the ever-changing genre of electronic dance music, and I personally am a big fan of all his music I have heard thus far. It has this dubstep, electro, house vibe that is really unique, and I think it is only a matter of time until you start hearing his name more and more frequently here in the U.S.

New Damn That Dutch Music Show with Interview from DJ Chuckie! MUST CHECK IT OUT!
For those of you who haven’t checked it out, the Damn That Dutch Music Show is actually pretty great (like actually really, really great). A music show developed to feature new Dutch House & Electro Music, they ended out the year with a visit from dirty dutch, DJ Chuckie himself. He was gracious enough to them an interview as they presented the best tracks of 2011.

Mat Zo has really been KILLING it lately, and knocking me off my feet; in a non-infatuated way that is. Even more exciting is the announcement made during his set interview at the benchmark Trance Around The World Episode 400 of new tracks to look out for around mid-April! A State of Trance Top 20 of 2011
That’s right! Another very exciting year in Trance has come to a close. The Top 20 Trance tracks of the year is an episode I always impatiently look forward to. What makes it even more impressive is the fact that the beloved host Armin Van Buuren has nothing to do with the tracks selected! This year there were 16,550 valid and confirmed votes which produced the beautiful tracklist in A State of Trance Episode 540! Counting down from number 20, Armin just mixes the tracks together as chosen by we the people. Stay tuned for our upcoming post with the official ASOT yearmix episode!

Skrillex: New Release BANGARANG!
Christmas comes early!! Skrillex dropped a new release: Bangarag, yesterday. The release is now available on beatport, and will be commercially available on iTunes and other digital retailers soon.
This new release features collaborations with The Doors, Ellie Goulding, Wolfgang Gartner, 12th Planet, Kill The Noise, and Sirah.
If that isn’t enough, its almost as if Skrillex never sleeps because he will be releasing a new video from his More Monsters and Sprites record on Christmas Eve (today!!). His song, “Ruffneck” (Full Flex) is directed by Tony Traunt who also directed the video for “First Of The Year (Equinox)” as well.

For those of you who aren’t aware of who Adam B is, write this name down. Adam Bonvin hails all the way from Lausanne, Switzerland, and this guy knows what is going on. His songs are a great mix of house and progressive house with some slight trance influence embedded in as well to keep you wrapped up in his mixes. His melodies are as delightful as his beats and we can’t wait to see what else he has got coming for us!

Mord Fustang – We Are Now Connected
Alright here is the deal, I don’t know if you have ever heard of Mord Fustang, but if not, then I thought I would share a little bit of my obsession with you. Hailing all the way from Tallin, Estonia, his first release on his record label was at the beginning of this year, 2011. Since then Mord Fustang has released a total of six tracks with all of them reaching the Beatport Top 100! This is his latest edition to his soundcloud We Are Now Connected. I added a few of my other faves from this year because this is definitely a DJ you are going to want to get to know if you don’t already know him that is! Enjoy.

Sensation America 2012!?!?
THERE IS A GOD… Or at least some higher being greater than us out there! I say this because they have answered my hours of begging and pleading for my wish to come true! Well it has! I went to Sensation Amsterdam 2011 and it was AMAZING and LIFE CHANGING! With different themes such as Innerspace, Celebrate Life, Wicked Wonderland, The Ocean of White, this is not something you will want to miss out on, and it is definitely something we will keep everyone updated on. Get excited for one of the greatest Electronic Dance Music events to grace the World as it will be coming soon! More information coming for sure in March!
